Honestly, we should all be lounging in bed, slightly hungover, leisurely reading the New York Times Book Review – but that was so 2014. Now it's about staying sober, getting up early, and preparing to fight for truth and democracy.
I didn't expect to face this twice in one lifetime, but here I am again, doing my damnedest to keep pace with a Trump administration and the relentless stream of lie-filled gruel that he and his minions pump into the world. Despite my cheekiness, this time around is measurably worse. The lies about the economy, the appointments of Hegseth and Kennedy (both of whom I believe are seriously capable of inflicting real harm in shocking ways), and the rest of this cast of characters – it's difficult to anticipate what comes next. Who knows where that other shoe will drop?
