I'm done. Completely and utterly done with the charade of Christianity in American politics. Every time I see another politician waving a Bible while pursuing policies that Jesus would condemn, something inside me breaks a little more.
For decades now, I've watched the transformation of a faith that once spoke of humility, compassion, and serving the least fortunate into a nakedly political movement obsessed with power, control, and cultural dominance. What began with the Moral Majority in the 1980s has evolved into something far more insidious – a fusion of religious identity and political allegiance so complete that many believers can no longer separate the two.
These "Christian" politicians speak of family values while separating immigrant families at the border. They quote scripture about helping the poor while voting to slash food assistance programs.
