The catastrophic flooding that killed over 120 people in Kerr County reveals a breakdown in basic emergency preparedness and this should be a cautionary tale to all Americans in the time of ignoring science and the advent of RFK Jr., Republican leadership and the Evangelical movement. The policies that are being implemented are deadly, irresponsible, and frankly stupid. Attacking vaccines. Dismantling FEMA. Ignoring climate change. Focusing on prayer in schools. Trans people playing college sports (less than 0.002% of those playing). Going after university and institutions like the NIH because they are too “woke.” These are the new priorities.
