The zombie rises again. Like a particularly stubborn strain of political herpes, the Republicans' beloved trickle-down economics has returned, more virulent and shameless than ever.

Donald Trump, our newly reinstalled Emperor with No Clothes, has unfurled what his sycophants at the House Ways and Means Committee have christened "THE ONE, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL." The all-caps title compensates for what the legislation lacks in decency.

The party that smugly lectures the poor about fiscal responsibility has concocted a $4.5 trillion orgy of tax cuts that would make a person confuse Marie Antoinette with Mother Teresa. The top 1% — you know, those struggling folks in their private jets who can barely make ends meet between their fourth and fifth homes — would pocket a cool $61,090 each. The ultra-elite, the top one-tenth of 1%, would rake in $252,300 per platinum-card-carrying member. How they've suffered waiting for this moment.
