As the younger Trump launches her lifestyle brand, her grandfather peddles deadly health misinformation in service of political expedience

It has been a strange week, even by the increasingly unhinged standards of American politics. We watched a sitting president launch unprecedented attacks on late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel—a direct assault on the First Amendment that would have been unthinkable from any previous commander-in-chief. We witnessed the weaponization of the Department of Justice against former FBI Director James Comey, whose apparent crime was insufficient loyalty during Trump’s first term. Constitutional crises, it seems, have become as routine as morning coffee.
But even constitutional erosion can’t interfere with the Trump family’s relentless expansion into new money-making territories. While her grandfather systematically dismantles democratic norms, 18-year-old Kai Trump has thrown her hat into the family business (making money in any way possible) with the launch of her very own lifestyle brand.
