Another week in the ICU of democracy. I’m thinking maybe America is just a symptom - the whole world seems to be on the verge of something horrific. Maybe it’s time to stop putting demented, power-drunk old men behind the wheel?
Before I review the week, I’ve been getting a lot of emails wondering why I’m not covering the missing Elon Musk?
Because he is not missing. He's posting 95 times a day, you goldfish. The man hasn't shut up since 2009, but everyone thinks he vanished because he stopped threatening to overthrow the government. We've set the bar so low that basic impulse control counts as mysterious silence.
Musk spent early 2025 tweeting Trump love letters, then had a $34 billion meltdown in June over a spending bill. Our free speech warrior went nuclear – threatened impeachment, dropped Epstein bombs, claimed he won the election single-handedly. Peak billionaire tantrum.
Then reality bit: when your empire runs on $38 billion in government welfare, don't pick fights…
